Wrapping up our list of cat breeds is the Maine Coon. This breed is the Native American long hair and was once held in high regard for its hunting abilities. This is a very smart breed of cat but one that is also extremely loving and gentle toward family members. As one would expect from such a great hunter, this is quite a sturdy breed and one that won’t have much issue living in a cooler climate.

For most of these breeds, the care responsibilities are quite minimal. You must make sure that the water gets enough oxygen (which can easily be solved by using an aerator in your fish tank), that they are fed properly, and that the tank is cleaned regularly.

The main thing you must remember when choosing a pet is that you ask yourself whether the pet would fare well with the type of lifestyle you lead.
